PRIVACY
Welcome to Luoda Writer (“the App”), a native Markdown editor for macOS published by Anthology Group. Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information. In short: Luoda Writer runs fully offline and does not collect any personal data.
Information We Collect
Luoda Writer does not collect any personal data. The App does not require an account and never asks you to provide personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number. There is no sign-in, no user profile, and nothing you write is sent to us.
Your Documents
Everything you write stays on your Mac. Your documents are ordinary files — such as Markdown, TextBundle, and plain text — that you open and save yourself, in locations you choose. Luoda Writer does not upload, back up, or synchronize your documents to us or to any cloud service; there is no built-in iCloud or account-based sync. Writing aids such as style and part-of-speech checks run entirely on your device using Apple's built-in text-analysis technology — your text is not sent to any server for processing.
On-Device Settings
Luoda Writer stores your preferences locally on your Mac using the operating system's standard on-device storage. This includes settings such as your theme, font, editor options, and writing goals, along with app-scoped bookmarks that let the App reopen the folders and theme files you have granted it access to. This information stays on your device, is not linked to your identity, and is never transmitted to us.
Network Use
Luoda Writer is designed to work fully offline and makes no network connections on its own. There are two optional situations where a connection can occur, both under your control:
- Remote images (off by default) — If a document references an image at a web address, the App will not load it unless you turn on “Load remote images” in settings. When enabled, the App requests that image directly from whatever website hosts it. Because the request goes to a third-party website, that website may see standard request information such as your IP address, as with any web request; the App does not attach your documents or any profile of you.
- Exported files — When you export a document to HTML, the exported file may reference public content-delivery networks (for example, to display math or diagrams). This causes network activity only if you later open that exported file in a web browser. Luoda Writer itself does not contact those services.
No Advertising
Luoda Writer contains no advertising. There are no ad networks or advertising SDKs in the App.
No Analytics or Tracking
Luoda Writer contains no analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, crash reporting, or any similar service, and the App does not track you across other apps or websites. It also does not phone home to check for updates.
Permissions
Luoda Writer runs inside Apple's App Sandbox. It requests access only to the files and folders you explicitly open or grant, together with printing and outbound network access for the optional features described above. It does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or photos.
Children's Privacy
Luoda Writer does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because the App collects no data, contains no ads, and includes no tracking, it is suitable for users of all ages. If you have any questions about children's privacy, please contact us.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be reflected by revising the “Effective Date” above.
